Nightless Lovers
Nightless Lovers, named eponymously after a Percy Mayfield tune, are a thinly veiled side project of Leo Joseph where he has decided to stray from using his usual Key Grip band moniker. That’s because Nightless Lovers are dedicated only to performing Percy Mayfield’s tunes the way he recorded them in the 1950s. You got it: Nightless Lovers - All Percy Mayfield, All The Time. In the Nightless Lovers, Tony Haley brings to new life Mayfield’s own evocative lyrics and vocals, the Gripping Stuff Horn Section recreates the superb horn lines of that genius Maxwell Davis (why bother trying to improve perfection?), and Leo Joseph on piano, Mitch Preston on drums and Phil Jenkins on bass hold the show down underneath.
Los Jovenes del Tango
A new Canberra quintet of classical and jazz musicians that plays traditional and modern dance music from Argentina - tangos, milongas, valses and more.
Liena Lacey - harp, viola
Simon Milman - contrabass
Natalya Tacheci - vocals
Valdis Thomann - accordion
Lathika Vithanage - violin
