"Taking your goods and services to a whole new market"
Program Sponsorship
A program sponsorship clearly marks you as a strong supporter of ArtSound and its programming. This distinction is an important one in terms of tangible results from a promotional campaign.
ArtSound's very loyal audience has demonstrated clearly that is it prepared to support the sponsors who support ArtSound. As a result of the longer commitment of sponsorship, rates are less expensive than those of an advertising contract.
A client who purchases a program sponsorship is given prominent recognition within that program. Spot sponsorships are normally not exclusive and other non-competing clients may also appear in the same program. Clients who purchase program sponsorship are exclusive in each hour purchased.
Program sponsors get a 10 second intro and outro to the program plus two 30 second promotional message within the sponsored hour and a further eight 30 second messages rotated throughout the broadcast week.
The cost depends on the program sponsored.

Benefits: Why On-Air Promotions with ArtSound FM Work
Limited Advertising
ArtSound is committed to playing less than the 5 minutes of sponsor announcements per hour allowed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority. This is a key distinction between commercial and community radio, lessening the 'turn off or tune out' factor and giving your announcement on ArtSound greater standout.
Foreground Radio
ArtSound FM, like many community radio stations, is 'foreground' radio. Our listeners tune in to be challenged, educated, and entertained. They listen attentively to their programs of choice.
Unlike listeners of total music stations, who generally seek background sound, ArtSound listeners are more likely to hear, remember and act on your announcement.
Listener Goodwill
ArtSound listeners are also loyal to the station and their programs of choice. Commitment to the station can translate into goodwill towards the businesses that support the station.
This can be an important factor in differentiating your products or services from those of your competitors. Be heard by over 20,000 listeners every week!
Diverse Programming
ArtSound's programs are diverse. Our aim is to serve those areas of the community whose interests are not adequately served by existing media outlets. In fact the four areas where community stations stand out in the 2006 McNair Ingenuity research are local information/news, specialist music & information programs, programs not available elsewhere, and diversity in programming.
This means that we are able to target your announcements to specific groups of listeners and their interests.
Access to Markets
Our research also indicates that ArtSound listeners prefer non-commercial media outlets, such as ArtSound and the ABC. In our 2007 listener survey, 47% of our listeners also listened to 102.3 (ABC Classic FM) and 34% to 666 (ABC Talk Radio), whereas only 13% listened to 106.3 (Commercial Popular Mix). In fact the 2006 McNair Ingenuity survey showed that 37.5% do not listen to commercial radio at all.
Thus there is no other way of reaching them by radio other than through ArtSound.
Quality of Production
All promotions are produced to the highest quality by our professional audio team. We always use the voices of our trusted presenters to get your message across. When you invest in airtime with ArtSound you are getting nothing but the best. You are welcome to visit our new studios at any time. We would love to show you around.
What is so special about our audience?
ArtSound attracts a focussed, highly educated, high income and unique audience in Australia (AB demographic). You will be accessing the people most likely to be willing and able to invest in your products and services.
Audience Size
The 2006 McNair Ingenuity survey of community radio (PDF) indicates that ArtSound has an average listening audience of 20 - 25,000 per week throughout Canberra and surrounding regions. (Out of a total of 40,000 listeners to community radio.)
The Professional Factor*
Our loyal listening audience is predominantly made up of professionals (38%) and people employed in either the public or private sectors (29%).
Thus with ArtSound, you will be talking directly to the leaders and key people in business and the general community!
The Education Factor*
Our 2007 survey showed that 51% of our listeners had first degrees and a further 35% had post-graduate degrees.
The Age Factor*
Our audience aged 25 to 54 is growing rapidly - from 46% (12,000) in 2004 to 65% (26,000) in 2006.
The Income Factor*
Nearly 60% of our audience earns in excess of $55,000 per annum. In fact, 13% earn more than $100,000 p.a. (This contrasts with the McNair Survey which shows that for listeners to community radio in Australia's 8 cities, only 28% earn in excess of $55,000.)
The Programming Factor
Research shows that Fine Music Network listeners watch the least amount of television or listen to the least amount of commercial radio! Therefore, our audience is likely to stay with ArtSound much later into the evening. (64% of our listeners are tuned in after 10.00 pm*.)
